Accessibility Statement

Accessibility at Lumber2Love

We want everyone to be able to browse our furniture, understand what we make, and place an order — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our commitment

Lumber2Love is working to make lumber2love.com accessible to and usable by people with disabilities, so that visually impaired and other disabled visitors have full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges and advantages we offer. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This is ongoing work rather than a finished state, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to be fixed, not as requests to be filed away.

What we have done so far

  • Navigation menus can be opened and used with a keyboard alone, not only with a mouse
  • A skip-to-content link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the header on every page
  • Visible focus indicators throughout, so keyboard users can always see where they are
  • Sale and regular prices marked up so screen readers announce which price you actually pay
  • Pinch-to-zoom enabled on mobile, which the site previously blocked
  • Descriptive alternative text added and corrected on product photography
  • Text and button contrast raised to meet the WCAG AA ratio
  • Animation reduced automatically for visitors whose devices request reduced motion

What we are still working on

We would rather tell you honestly where we are than claim a finish line we have not reached. Known areas still being addressed include alternative text on older images, heading structure on some legacy pages, and accessibility within third-party tools we use for payments, financing and messaging.
Third-party content. Some parts of our site are provided by outside services — payment and financing widgets, messaging tools and embedded media. We do not control their code, but we do raise accessibility problems with those vendors and will help you complete any transaction another way if one of them blocks you.

Tell us about a problem

If you have difficulty using any part of this website, or if something here has stopped you doing what you came to do, we want to hear about it. You will reach a person, and we will tell you what we are going to do about it.It helps if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you use — but tell us in whatever way is easiest for you. None of that is required.
