Lumber2Love® Furniture

Proper care helps preserve the beauty, integrity, and longevity of your handcrafted Lumber2Love furniture. The following guidelines are recommended for normal residential and commercial use.

WOOD

  • Clean surfaces using a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth

  • Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining

  • Use coasters, trivets, or protective pads to prevent heat marks and water rings

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, oil-based products, waxes, ammonia, or chemical cleaners

Because solid wood is a natural material, changes in color and grain over time are expected.

METAL (STEEL / IRON / ALUMINUM)

  • Clean with a soft, dry or damp cloth

  • Do not use abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or oil-based cleaners

  • Periodically inspect and tighten hardware as needed

  • Use coasters or protective pads to avoid heat marks or moisture damage

  • Wipe spills promptly to prevent staining or corrosion

LEATHER

  • Vacuum surface debris using a soft brush or hose attachment

  • Clean with a microfiber cloth lightly sprayed with leather cleaner or saddle soap

  • For heavier soiling, gently scrub using a soft-bristled brush

  • Avoid excessive moisture and direct heat or sunlight

  • Do not use harsh cleaners, solvents, or alcohol-based products

Natural markings and variations are inherent characteristics of genuine leather.

MARBLE / STONE

  • Dust once or twice weekly using a soft, dry cloth

  • Clean periodically with warm water and a mild dish soap if needed

  • Rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry immediately

  • Never use abrasive cleaners, acidic solutions, or commercial dusting sprays

  • Always use coasters and trivets to protect from etching or staining

Stone is a natural material and may show variation in veining and tone.

CANVAS / UPHOLSTERY FABRICS

  • Vacuum regularly using upholstery and crevice attachments

  • For light cleaning, mix ¼ cup mild soap with 1 gallon of lukewarm water

  • Allow solution to soak briefly, then rinse thoroughly and air dry

  • For spot cleaning removable covers, lightly mist with soap solution and gently scrub with a sponge or soft brush

  • Avoid over-wetting and harsh chemicals

FELT + WOOL

  • Vacuum as needed using upholstery attachment (no rotary brushes)

  • Do not brush fabric—this may permanently damage texture

  • Spot clean by dabbing with a soft white cloth dampened with cool water

  • For stubborn stains, use a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water

  • Dab gently—do not rub

BRASS

  • Clean with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth

  • Avoid abrasive or oil-based cleaners

  • Periodically check and tighten hardware if applicable

  • Use coasters and trivets to prevent heat marks and water stains

  • Wipe spills immediately

Brass may naturally patina over time.

GLASS / MIRROR

  • Use cleaners specifically designed for glass

  • Spray cleaner onto a microfiber cloth—not directly onto the surface

  • Wipe clean, then buff with a second dry microfiber cloth for best results

  • Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals

GENERAL CARE NOTES

  • Maintain indoor humidity between 35%–50%

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight

  • Do not place hot, wet, or sharp objects directly on surfaces

  • Use felt pads under accessories and décor
