Three sizes, four stains, two bases. That's configuration, not custom. We start from your dimensions and a rough board — and we take the jobs other shops turn down, because we have the floor, the equipment, and the 25 people to finish them.
Three walls people hit before they call us
Almost every custom furniture request runs into one of these. Understanding which one you're facing tells you who you should actually be calling.
The small shop
Two to five people, real skill, genuine craft. But no spray booth, no upholstery, no metal, and a low ceiling on anything they can move or finish. They subcontract half the job and the schedule slips with it.
The large manufacturer
Capacity to spare, but they build catalog SKUs. Ask for a nonstandard length or a base that isn't in the book and you get a polite no, or a tooling charge that kills the project.
The online configurator
"Custom" that means three sizes and four stains. Fine until your room is 116 inches, your ceiling is low, or you want the grain to run a particular way.
Big enough to build it. Small enough to draw it with you.
A 30,000 square foot shop with finishing, upholstery, and fabrication in-house means we don't subcontract the hard part — and 25 craftspeople means a one-off dining table and a full restaurant package run through the same building on the same standard. You talk to the people building your piece, and they can actually build it.
Where most shops stop
Length is the fastest way to find a shop's ceiling. Most are limited by the size of their finish room and what fits out the door — not by skill. We built the room and the door around the work.
Everything past 10 ft gets subcontracted — or declined.
What we do that most wood shops don't
Each of these is a separate trade. Most shops have one or two and hire out the rest — which is where cost, schedule, and accountability start to come apart.
Our own spray booth and finish room
Hand-applied stain, custom color matching to a sample you send us, and catalyzed varnish for anything facing heavy use. Nothing leaves the building to be finished, so the color is right and the schedule holds.

Chairs, stools, banquettes and lounge built and upholstered here. Send your own fabric or leather and we'll confirm cut yield before we start. A wood shop that can also upholster is rare.

Every custom piece is drawn and issued for your approval first. Expandable mechanisms, unsupported spans, and knock-down joinery for tight stairwells all get engineered, not guessed.

We draw it to scale and quote it. Nothing is cut until you've approved both.

8–11 weeks in the shop, then free nationwide delivery or white-glove placement.
