Who we are
Lumber2Love is a furniture maker in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This policy covers lumber2love.com and the ways we handle information about the people who visit it and buy from us. It does not cover other companies' websites we link to.What we collect
Information you give us
- Name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses
- Order details — the piece, size, species, finish and options you chose, plus any notes you send us
- Room dimensions, drawings, photographs or other material you send when requesting a custom quote
- Messages you send by contact form, email or text
- Appointment requests when you book a visit to our shop
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, operating system and screen size
- Pages you viewed, how you arrived, and how long you stayed
- Advertising identifiers such as Google click IDs and Meta click IDs, which tell us which advert brought you here
Payment information
We do not see or store your full card number. Payments are handled by Stripe, PayPal or Affirm, who process card details directly. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the last four digits of the card. How we use it
- To build and deliver what you ordered, and to keep you updated while we build it
- To answer questions, prepare quotes and schedule shop visits
- To take payment and prevent fraud
- To arrange freight and delivery, which means giving your address to a carrier
- To send order updates, and marketing email if you have asked for it
- To understand which pages and adverts work, so we spend our advertising money sensibly
- To meet tax, accounting and legal obligations
Cookies and tracking
Our site uses cookies and similar storage for a few different purposes.- Necessary — keeping your cart, remembering you are logged in, and security. The site cannot work without these.
- Analytics — Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used.
- Advertising — Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), so we can measure which adverts lead to orders and show adverts to people likely to be interested.
- Preferences — small flags that remember, for example, that you have dismissed a notice, so we do not show it again.
Advertising, and how we measure it
We advertise on Google and on Meta. To understand whether that advertising actually produces orders, we do two things worth being plain about.- We record the click identifier from the advert that brought you here, and match it against orders so we can see which adverts work.
- We upload order information to Google and Meta in a hashed, non-readable form, so those platforms can match completed sales back to adverts and can help us reach people with similar interests.
What this means in plain terms. Sharing information with advertising platforms in this way may count as “sharing” or “selling” personal information under some state privacy laws, even though no money changes hands and the data is hashed before it leaves us. You can tell us to stop — see Your choices below.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your information for money. We share it with companies that help us run the business, and only for that purpose:- Payments — Stripe, PayPal, Affirm
- Delivery — freight carriers and white glove delivery partners
- Website and email — our hosting provider, email service and form tools
- Messaging — Podium, which powers the text and chat option on our site
- Analytics and advertising — Google and Meta, as described above
- Order management — the internal tools we use to track a build from deposit to delivery
Your choices
- Marketing email — every marketing message has an unsubscribe link. Order updates are not marketing and will continue.
- Access, correction or deletion — ask us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We may need to keep order and tax records the law requires us to retain.
- Opting out of advertising sharing — tell us and we will stop including your information in uploads to advertising platforms.
- Browser controls — you can block cookies, and you can use Google's and Meta's own advertising settings to limit personalised adverts.
Texting
If you text us, or give us your phone number and agree to be contacted, we may reply by text about your order or your enquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. How long we keep information
Order records are kept as long as we need them for warranty, accounting and tax purposes. Because our furniture is built to last decades and we keep the specification of every piece we make, we retain enough information to identify and match a table years later if you ask us to repair or extend it. Enquiries that do not become orders are kept for a shorter period.Children
Our site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.Security
Our site uses HTTPS, card details are handled by our payment processors rather than by us, and access to order information is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we take this seriously.Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date below. Significant changes will be noted on the page rather than made quietly.Effective 3 September 2026.
